Google Voice Update for iPhone, iPad, iPod Brings Multi-Recipient Texting

Google has just announced an update to its Voice app for iOS devices, which is available on iTunes for free download.

The?updated Google Voice comes with new features like multi-recipient texting, contact autocomplete, multi-line text entry field with character count. The new version, 1.4.0.2372, also has improved Sprint support integrated, which the app description explains "sends all calls to the native dialer when the phone is integrated with Sprint".

Google Voice is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod running on iOS 3.0 or later, and offers users the possibility of sending free text messages to US and also to make international calls at competitive (or as Google puts it "insanely low") rates.

A Google Voice account, which is free, is required for use of this application. In addition to making calls from their own Google Voice number, users can also access their voicemail and get transcriptions.

The only bad news is that Google Voice is not available outside the US. However, the company announced on the Google Voice blog that their will be "extended free domestic calls within the US and Canada for 2012."
