Newest trends in treatment

(Long Island, NY) Two breast cancer medical experts will present the Newest Trends in Breast Cancer Treatment at a medical forum conducted by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. The program will be presented on Thursday, March 15, at 7 pm at the Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.

Speakers are Kathie-Ann Joseph, MD, NYU Langone Medical Center, and Steven M. Sugarman, MD, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The doctors will present recent treatment advances, information on health care and survival disparities and up-dates on clinical trials/investigational treatments.

Dr. Kathie-Ann Joseph is a breast surgeon at NYU Langone Medical Center where she serves as Director of Breast Services of the South Manhattan Network of the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. She is a graduate of Harvard College and received her medical degree from Columbia University. She completed her general surgery residency training at NYU Medical Center and her breast oncology fellowship at Columbia University. Dr. Joseph holds several grants for breast cancer research. She is dedicated to improving access to screening in underserved populations and communities.

Dr. Steven Sugarman is an Attending Physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is on the faculty at the Weil Medical College, Cornell University. He serves as Assistant Chair in the Department of Medicine for Clinical Trials in the Regional Network. He graduated from Cornell University and received his medical degree from Downstate Medical School. He received his residency training at North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Sugarman was also a Fellow at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
